Professor Richard Kwasi Amankwah
Director
Professor Amankwah is a Director of the Leverage Board. He is a Mining Engineer by profession. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Mineral Resources Technology at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi where he had his first and second degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He holds a PhD in Biohydrometallurgy from the Queens University, Canada.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of Process Innovation – a mineral and architectural consultancy firm and has served as a lead consultant for over twenty-seven (27) projects in the mining sector.
Professor Amankwah has a number of awards to his credit including the Ontario Graduate scholar (2003), Queens Graduate Excellence Award (2001 – 2004) etc. He has authored and co-authored over eighty-one (81) journal publications and articles from various research works which has transformed livelihoods in the mining community. He was a lead researcher for the United Nations Project on women in the Artisanal and Small-scale industry in Africa, which makes him understand the challenges of small and medium enterprises in Africa especially women entrepreneurs.
Professor Amankwah is also a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers, as well as a Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME), USA.
